In 1877, a young man named Henry Bachrach opened his own store in Decatur, Illinois. His goal was to provide quality clothes at reasonable prices. He called his store "Cheap Charley" and served all the men who were settling and developing the Midwest.
Over the years, Bachrach has grown up with America and has continued to adapt our business to the changing social landscape.
With all this change, something has remained the same – the BACHRACH SPIRIT. A spirit of friendliness, energetic service and handsome innovative styles that have been our hallmark. |
ABOUT BACHRACH
Today, Bachrach is owned by a group of private investors headed by Brian Lipman. Bachrach’s distribution and customer service operations remain in Decatur, IL while its corporate headquarters is located in the heart of the garment district in New York City. In addition, Bachrach operates over 40 stores in major metropolitan markets across 13 states as well as a nationally distributed catalog and e-commerce business.
THE BRAND – The BACHRACH brand is a menswear experience based upon a European fashion aesthetic, superior customer service and an emphasis on lasting customer relationships. The Bachrach man is known for looking strong, confident, urbane and sharp.
